Homeopathy in Sweden,England and the USA

As a part of my teaching program, I was on a long tour to Europe and the United States for over seven weeks, and have just
returned.
In the heart of Stockholm, Sweden, I had pleasure of teaching to over 140 professional homeopaths and practitioners for three
days. The amount of enthusiasm and interest shown by the Swedish homeopaths was nothing but a reflection of the growing
awareness and demand for homeopathy in Sweden. Breaking the language barrier, the participants were so keen to enhance
their prescribing skills. It is sad that the Swedish Government does not recognize, yet, homeopathy as a mode of healing
therapy. Is it not antagonist that while the Right Livelihood award (alternative to Noble Prize) from Sweden, went to George
Vithoulkas (the homeopath), homeopathy does not enjoy an official status in Sweden !
My teaching experience in England was interesting. Homeopathy enjoys a privileged status in UK, as the Royal family is
homeopathy minded. The Queen, Prince Charles, late Diana and the family is known to a homeopathy family. However, there
are several practical problems which keeps homeopathy away from the reach to the mass. The major obstacle benign the
Health insurance, which unfortunately, does not support homeopathy mode of treatment.
It was my first visit to the US, where I had opportunities of teaching and encountering with numerous homeopaths in various
parts of the country. The homeopaths in the US, often have different background. Very open minded, keen to learn new
methods; but having a fewer opportunities to have clinical experience, as the homeopathy institutes in the US often lack
adequate practical training. Well, there are some exceptionally good schools, but not as much as there is a need, keeping in
mind the size of the country.
In New York, in an hour long interactive television interview, while talking to thousands of viewers I was confronted with
numerous questions from the lay-people as well as the medical practitioners. I realized, in brief, a lot needs to be done to bring
homeopathy to a level, in the United State of America.
